Week of April 8th, 2013

Dear Parents,

Our class had a delightful Easter celebration this week! There was a special Easter chapel on Wednesday, and we had fun at our Easter party. We appreciated the Easter party supplies from Patrick Beardsley, Mateo Bush, Ethan Kim, and Riley Morris. Thank you, Mrs. Weisner, for helping us during the party!

Congratulations to Jasmine Alonzo and Kamrin Smith (and their families ) for turning in their Training for a Superhero Smile log! Terrific! Students may still turn in their logs through the month of May. A copy is attached if needed.

My prayer for you and your family is that you have a joyous and restful Easter break. May the Lord fill your hearts with His peace and strength. Godís blessings to you this Easter!

Happy Easter! He is risen!

International Day
Wednesday, April 24th

International Day is a wonderful celebration of cultures around the world!

On International Day, students may wear a cultural costume. It may be a costume representing your familyís cultural background or a different country. Students are to wear closed toe shoes or their regular school shoes. If students do not want to dress up in a cultural outfit, they are to wear the school uniform.

During the day, each class will get to visit the gym where booths representing different countries will be set up.

After lunch there will be an International Day assembly in the school gym. Each class will perform a song to celebrate cultures around the world. You donít want to miss this!

In our classroom at 2:00pm, we will get to try samples of different kinds of food from around the world and share about all of the amazing cultures from around the world!

After Easter break, I will have a sign up sheet posted by the classroom door if youíd like to bring an international food dish or snack. For example, Mrs. Sutherland and I plan to bring small samples of Dutch cheese and Scottish shortbread.
