Week of April 8th, 2013

Dear Parents,

Our class had a delightful Easter celebration this week! There was a special Easter chapel on Wednesday, and we had fun at our Easter party. We appreciated the Easter party supplies from Patrick Beardsley, Mateo Bush, Ethan Kim, and Riley Morris. Thank you, Mrs. Weisner, for helping us during the party!

Congratulations to Jasmine Alonzo and Kamrin Smith (and their families ) for turning in their Training for a Superhero Smile log! Terrific! Students may still turn in their logs through the month of May. A copy is attached if needed.

My prayer for you and your family is that you have a joyous and restful Easter break. May the Lord fill your hearts with His peace and strength. God’s blessings to you this Easter!

Happy Easter! He is risen!

International Day
Wednesday, April 24th

International Day is a wonderful celebration of cultures around the world!

On International Day, students may wear a cultural costume. It may be a costume representing your family’s cultural background or a different country. Students are to wear closed toe shoes or their regular school shoes. If students do not want to dress up in a cultural outfit, they are to wear the school uniform.

During the day, each class will get to visit the gym where booths representing different countries will be set up.

After lunch there will be an International Day assembly in the school gym. Each class will perform a song to celebrate cultures around the world. You don’t want to miss this!

In our classroom at 2:00pm, we will get to try samples of different kinds of food from around the world and share about all of the amazing cultures from around the world!

After Easter break, I will have a sign up sheet posted by the classroom door if you’d like to bring an international food dish or snack. For example, Mrs. Sutherland and I plan to bring small samples of Dutch cheese and Scottish shortbread.

Week of March 4, 2021

Dear Parents,

Wow! It’s hard to believe that the month of March is here! These awesome students will soon be first graders! During these last few months of school, our kindergarten curriculum becomes very challenging. We strongly suggest reviewing work that comes home to reinforce what your child is learning at school. Also, please keep on reading with your child and practicing math flashcards. Students need to practice adding and subtracting by 2’s and 3’s in order to memorize these facts.

In science, we are exploring plants and stages of plant growth. One of our experiments involves trying to sprout avocado seeds. Students may bring in a potato (any kind) to see if we can get it to sprout too! At our field trip to the Centennial Farm on March 22nd, we will get to plant and take home lima bean seeds. We are excited to watch God’s miracles in action!

Have a very sunny weekend! God bless.
