Week of January 7th, 2012

Dear Parents,

Didn’t our class do an exceptional job at the Christmas Program on Wednesday? It was wonderful to see our students perform! We appreciate the goodies and supplies for our Christmas party from the families of Patrick Beardsley, Mariah Bennett, Mateo Bush, Anna Early, Ethan Kim, Riley Morris, and Kamrin Smith. A big thank you goes to Riley Morris’ grandmother and Kamrin Smith’s sister, Erika, for helping us at the party!

My prayer for your family is that the joy of Jesus Christ will be with you throughout the holidays and the New Year. Although I look forward to family time and rest (and being with our three dogs and three chickens), I will miss each and every student. Five days a week I get to be surrounded with the bright and cheery faces of your children. This makes it a blessing to be a teacher!

Merry Christmas!
Love,
Mrs. Vandercook

For Your Information:

Homework Folders: We will send home a new folder in January. Students are welcome to bring in their own homework folder if they wish.

Library Books: Check to see if your child has library books at home. We will send home an itemized list of missing books in January.

Missing Hot Dog book: We’re missing the learning-to-read book that was sent home with each student to read and bring back to school. We’ve lost track of the book. Please see if it happens to be at home. Thank you!

Week of December 17, 2020

Dear Parents,

Wow! One more week until our Christmas break! It’s going to be a busy, but exciting week! Remember to have your child dress warmly for Wednesday night’s Christmas Program. Please have your child in the cathedral by 6:45pm. Your child may sit with your family during the program.

With sincere care our class worked on our mission blankets and Christmas cards. Next Monday, 12-17, at 10:30am, Mr. White from the O.C. Salvation Army will come to our classroom and share how our comfort blankets will be distributed to families in need in our community. You are most welcome to join us on Monday. Please pray with your family that the children who receive the blankets may be touched by God’s love this Christmas season.

Mrs. Sutherland and I want to thank you for your time and attention given at home towards your child’s math and reading skills. Looking over your child’s class work with him or her helps reinforce important skills and concepts practiced in class. As the year progresses, the curriculum will increase in difficulty. It is very important that your child have a strong foundation in the basics of math and phonics. Thank you for investing in your child’s learning process!

Have a wintery-wonderland weekend! God bless.
Mrs. Vandercook

Week of December 10, 2020

Dear Parents,

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our classroom! Our students have finished their Christmas angel project, and we have read the Bible story of Christ’s birth announced by the angels. Come by our room to see your child’s angel artwork!

Our class brought in the most funds from the Yankee Candle fundraiser! As a thank you, each kindergartner will receive a free McDonald’s kids meal next Thursday, 12-13! Thank you for taking the time and effort to support our school. You are an awesome group of parents! First, our class brought in the most bottles and cans for Big Day and now this! Wow.

Congratulations to Mariah Bennett, Anna Early, Riley Morris ,and Jacob Muriel for completing their November calendar for Read Your Heart Out Book It” program. Remember to be reading at least 20 minutes or more per week. A copy of the December calendar is attached to this letter.

Kindergarten Mission Project: Wed., December 12th, 2:00pm – 3:00pm. We’d love your help if you are available!

Have a cheery weekend! God bless.
