Art projects for the week of November 2,
*** "CCA Monthly Art Display: Bird" by 1st graders ***
CCA Art Department presents the monthly art display of 1st graders' artworks in November. Come check out their wonderful artworks!
Date: November 3rd through November 30th
Location: CCA School Building, 2nd Floor Hallway
***John Wayne Airport Children's Art Contest: Flying with the Sun***
Our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students will participate in the 20th Annual John Wayne Airport Student Art Contest. JWA winning entries go on to compete at State, National and International levels of competition. Artworks that best depict this year’s contest theme, Flying with the Sun, are selected for exhibition and prizes.
The JWA Student Art Contest’s deadline is November 4th, 2009. Students will work on this project in art class. The contest entry forms are going home on October 23rd. Please fill out the entry form completely and return the form back to your child/children’s classroom teacher or art room(#224). We need the completed entry forms by October 30th. Thank you.

* Project 5: Zoo Drawing
Medium: Marker & Crayon
Goal: Learn to draw animals by fitting shapes together
1st Grade
*Project6: Clay Project- Sea Creature or Pot
Medium: Clay, glazes
Goal: Learn how to make 3-D sea creatures and/or pots.

2nd Grade

Medium: Tempera Painting
3rd Grade
*Project 4: Watercolor Painting-Sunset
Medium: Watercolor
Goals: 1) Learn watercolor techniques 2) Paint from light to dark in watercolor
We are done with drawing and are ready to start on the washes.
4th Grade
*Project 3: Landscape
Medium: Watercolor
Goal: 1) Different watercolor washes 2) Paint from light washes to dark ones
5th Grade
*Project 4: Photo Duplication-Animals
Medium: Oil Pastel
Goal: Improve Oil Pastel techniques
High School Ceramics
* Project 3: Slab Construction
Medium: Clay
Specification: Stuednts are required to make 2 art works for this project.
1) Mug: Students need to be able to build a mug using slabs.
2) Cityscape: Students need to build a city using slabs.
(Size specification: Base-8"Wx 11"L x3"H)
I have extended this project's due date to November 6th. The Quiz #3 will be due on the same day.
We will continue glazing coil construction pieces in November.
