Art projects for the week of April 27
***OPEN HOUSE PREPARATION WEEK***
Students will be working on finishing any incomplete projects for the Open House.
Kindergarden
Project18: Step Drawing
Medium: Pencil, crayon
1st Grade
Project 14: Step Drawing; Sea Turtle
Medium: Pencil & Oil Pastel
2nd Grade
Project14: Self-Portrait Drawing
Medium: Pencil & Oil Pastel
Students learn how to draw self-portrait drawings by using shapes.
3rd Grade
Project14:
1) Planet Painting: 3rd Grade Classroom Project
2) Tooling Foil Project: Students explore working with tooling foil.
4th Grade
Project9: Landscape Watercolor Painting
Students learn how to paint in watercolor. Various watercolor painting techniqus will be demonstrated and covered. Watercolor is a wonderful medium but is less forgiving compared to other paints like tempera or oil. We will learn how to plan ahead in watercolor.

5th Grade
Project10: Supper
Group project- Students will learn how to glaze fired pots and learn different glazing techniques.
Medium: Clay and glazes
Highschool Ceramics and Sculpture
Project10: Clay Sculpture Project
This is our last clay project this semester due to the time limitation in drying time. Students will build a 3 dimension sculpture using clay. This project can be realistic or abstract. Students can use any of the building techniques we learned in class.
Project11: Wire Sculpture
Reading Assignment: 'Sculpture as Experience' ;P.78 - P.91
We will cover the tools and materials for wire sculpture and the procedures of forming the sculpture and mounting.
Medium: Various types of wire, wire cutting and bending tools
