Sports: The forms listed below must be completed at the beginning of each school year by parents and student athletes prior to participating on any CCHS team.

Athletic Fees:
$150 per sport; billed to the student's account. Athletic fees pay for league dues, referees, field rentals, replacement equipment/uniforms, trophies/medals, certificates and other expenses related to the annual sports awards night.

Awards:
Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player from each team. And a Male and a Female Athlete of the Year. Presentation of awards will be made at the Annual Sports Awards Night scheduled for Thursday, May 13, 2010, 7:00 PM in Freed Theater.
Physical Exam Reminder:
All athletes must take a physical exam before the first game of their season.
Parents wishing to volunteer to be an assistant coach on a CCHS team should first discuss the need with the appropriate coach. Names of prospective parent volunteer coaches will be reviewed/approved by the Athletics Director.
SPRING H.S. SPORTS 2009-10
Parent Involvement Program (PIP) - Sign up now to volunteer as a driver for Away games, to donate food items and serve in our Snack Shack or to work as scorekeeper and scoreboard operator (not hard to do at all) during high school boys' Home volleyball matches. Online sign-up for Spring will be available the week of March 8.
Boys volleyball season begins with a pre-season Home match on Wed, March 10, 6:00 PM vs. Pacific Lutheran H.S.

Boys H. S. Volleyball Schedule
ADMISSION FEES FOR HIGH SCHOOL GAMES:
The admission for high school boys' volleyball matches is:
Adults $4.00
Students and kids - $2.00
Coaches, Asst. Coaches, trainers, players are admitted free. Parents who staff the scorers table, the ticket sales table or the snack shack during Home games do not have to pay and can sign up online to earn PIP hours for these tasks.
b>HIGH SCHOOL P.E.
Students must be in the proper P.E. uniform for class. Out of uniform = a 20% deduction from the day's participation points.
Gym locks/lockers are issued to all PE students/dancers/athletes. No school books, food or drink may be stored in gym locker and locks must be returned at the end of a sports/dance season or the end of semester. Lost/damaged locks = $10 charge.

Quarterly Test:
The 3rd Quarter written test/physical strength performance test will be given on Thursday, March 18.
Grading breakdown: 10% test; 15% demonstrated skill level; and 75% participation. P.E. classes are Monday through Friday for one semester.

b>MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETICS:
Students who wish to play in any sport during the school year must have their parents complete a Permission/Commitment/Uniform Statement (2 pg) and three Medical Consent and Release Forms. All four forms (with original signature) must be returned to the Athletics Director prior to participation on any CCA team.

Three players from each boys & girls team and one eighth grade boy and girl are selected by the coaches to receive special awards at the Annual Sports Awards Night. School Year 2009-10 the awards night will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2010, 7:00 PM in Freed Theater. Families bring a dessert to serve 10-12 people for the celebration following the awards ceremony.

SPRING M.S. SPORTS 2009-10

Sign up online is now avilable--first come first served.

Boys volleyball and girls fast-pitch softball seasons are rapidly approaching. First VB game is March 22 (Away) and girls' first SB game is March 25 (Home @ Garden Grove Park).

MIDDLE SCHOOL P.E.
P.E. classes are held every day. Students will be expected to be in the proper P.E. uniform every class session. A 20% point deduction will be made from the daily participation grade for being out of uniform.

The 3rd Quarter written/physical strength test will be given on the dates shown below:
Grade 6 & 8: Tuesday, March 16
Grading breakdown: 10% project, 5% test, 10% skills evaluation, 75% participation. Points (20%) are deducted from the daily participation grade for each day student is not in correct P.E. uniform (light gray T-shirt and dark blue shorts). P.E. classes are Monday through Friday for one semester.

HANDBALL TOURNAMENT:
The next tournament (Challenge II) will be held Friday, March 12, 2010, 3:30 - 5:30 PM. Signup sheets will be given to fifth grader teachers on Monday, March 1st and collected on Wednesday, March 10th.
