Dear Parents and Students,
This is our last Friday and letter of the year! We had a great morning of awards. It is a special time to recognize each child for all their unique talents and gifts. Each student made an award for another student in our class. They presented their special award to each other by reading a paragraph they wrote about that person. It was very special to hear their kind words about each other.
Thank you for coming to the GPS musical on Wednesday night. We had a huge crowd! The students did a WONDERFUL job! I am so proud of all their hard work and their two amazing performances.
Please make sure that all library books and textbooks are at school on Monday. I will be collecting the books on Monday and they need to be here. Thank you.
If you don’t have summer plans, consider our summer school program. It’s going to be a fun-filled summer. Sign up today. I would also encourage you to have your child read as much as possible this summer. It will increase their vocabulary and keep their minds engaged over the summer. Check out your local library for reading plans. I loved doing this as a child! They offer prizes for reading a certain amount.
We are done with all of the major tests and assignments. I will be doing grades over the weekend and I have until Monday morning to enter any last minute missing assignments. Report cards will be mailed by June 18th. Next week we will be finishing up our studies on Monday and part of Tuesday morning. The rest of Tuesday we will be cleaning our tubs and lockers as well as turning all of our text books back in.
Don’t forget that next Wednesday, June 10th, is our last day of school. We will be having a PTT all school party from 9:00-11:30a.m. Please see the note about it coming home today. Pizza and hot dogs will be sold for $1.00.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL DISMISSAL 12:00 p.m. with not daycare. Please make sure your child is picked up on time.
God bless,
Mrs. Hoops
