Spelling:
Monday: Write Spelling Words (1 time each)
Tuesday: Say the word, spell it and say it again
Wednesday: (verbally) Use each spelling word in a sentence
Thursday: Give a family member our spelling test. Correct it together.
Friday: Spelling Test at school
Rule: *When you hear a /k/ sound at the end of a word and the vowel is short, write /ck/.
*If the vowel is long write /k/ and silent /e/.

Reading:

Christian Characteristic: Industriousness
Bible Memory Verse: “Whatever you do, work at it with your whole heart, as working for the Lord.” Colossians 3:23
-Student will recite the verse in class on Friday

What’s new this weeks? - Health: good eating habits and daily exercise.
- Writing: We are practicing proper manuscript skills.
- Phonics: special sounds /ck/ in duck /e/ as in me /y/ as in fly /ay/ as in pray.
Attention Parents:
Students are allowed to wear free dress on their birthday!
(Please use the handbook guidelines)
-If they have a Friday birthday they MAY do free dress in school family.
-If their birthday is during a weekend or holiday they can wear free dress on the Monday or day we return to school.
-If their birthday falls in the summer or has already past we will have a day in May for those students (to be announced)
-If they forget there will NOT be a make up day!
Looking Ahead…- Progress reports go out on October 8th.
- Non Student day on October 9th.
