4th Grade PE Project is due Tuesday October 20, 2009.
Choose one of the following projects:
25 Mile Club
Complete one 25 Mile Club chart. Each 15 minutes of non-stop aerobic exercise counts as one mile. To fill in a box write the date and what activity was done. Each box must be individually filled out, no repeat signs. Sports team practice or games may count toward the 25 Mile Club if the activity is continuous and aerobic. Generally there are portions of a practice that are business and instruction as well as rest/drink breaks. Count only the portions that are non-stop for 15 minutes (or more) and increase the heart rate. You must turn in the record of your work on an official 25 Mile Club form and it must be signed by your parent.
Christian Athlete Biography
Choose a Christian athlete. Write a one page report in your own words. Include in your report information about his/her early life, participation in athletics, awards and honors, at least one positive character quality that this person shows, how you know or how they show they are a Christian, why you chose this athlete, and other information you found interesting about this person. A list of suggestions is available.
Sports Observation
Watch two different games played by the same team and fill out an observation sheet (available from Mrs. Schenk) about the games. You will need to have an adult initial your sheet to verify you did actually watch the games. You may watch games on TV, or in person. You can earn 5 extra credit points by watching one of our Crystal Cathedral middle school or high school teams as your team of choice. Games played by your siblings are fine too.
Exercise Report
Write a one page report about exercising including the following: Why you should exercise, how exercise is good for the body, and how to prevent injury as you exercise.
