Final Full Week - June 1, 2009
8th Grade Science
All late work is due by Monday June 1, 2009 at 3:30. The extra credit project is due by Tuesday June 2. The final test of the year will be a take home test. It will be given out in class on Wednesday and due by the beginning of class on Friday as we will most likely miss science class on Thursday due to the graduation rehearsal. Any student who arrives in class without a completed test will be given a new test to finish while the rest of the class is involved in another activity.

Monday - finish worksheets 4-3, 5-1 and 5-2 if not turned in during class - 90% credit maximum
Tuesday - Worksheet 6-1
Wednesday - take home test
Thursday - take home test

Field Day is this week. Grades 3, 4, and 5 will be participating in events on Tuesday morning with the help of the 8th graders. K, 1, and 2 will be participating on Wednesday morning with the help of the 7th graders.
8th Science
The extra credit assignment is due June 2. It can be found in the back of the text book in the interdiscplinary section on pages 194 to 201. Read and make a short written summary of each of the sections. Then choose either 3 of the 4 activities noted with the push pin symbol or build a spagetti bridge according to the direction on page 201. It is worth an increase in grade of 3%
7th Science
The extra credit assignment is due June 2. It can be found in the back of the text book in the interdiscplinary section on pages 168 to 173. Read and make a short written summary of each of the sections. Then choose either 3 of the 4 activities noted with the push pin symbol or study one breed of dog and make a poster according to the direction on page 173. It is worth an increase in grade of 3%

The last day of school is fast approaching and we are working at a rapid pace. An extra credit assignment will be given in class this week and due by Tuesday June 2. Only students who have all work turned in may do the extra credit assignment.

Chapter 3 quiz on Wednesday.
Your F1 generation pets should be coming along. You need to have the genotype and your drawings of the phenotypes of the two offspring by the middle of class on Monday. We will be studying meiosis this week. Be sure you know the difference between meiosis and mitosis.

8th Grade Science
Chapter 2 quiz on Tuesday covering sections 1 and 2. Be working on your boat project. It is due Thursday May 21. The preliminary design worksheet is due Monday 5/11.

Stop by the science room during Open House and see what we have been studying. You are also invited to try some of the activities we do in elementary PE from 7:00 to 7:30 in the gym.
7th Grade Science
Your plant project is due this Thursday. That is your only homework for the week. Be sure you have your "pet" with you in class as we will be working with them on and off through the week.
8th Grade Science
The chapter 2 test is Tuesday May 5.
Information will be coming home this week about the boat building project. You must build a metal boat that will float a cargo of 50 pennies for 10 seconds or more.
