Please explore our class website (cut and paste the above web address). There are many interesting sections! Our historians have their own section! This will give you the student perspective! There is a class calendar to help you keep up with events. There are pictures and even a video made by your kids!

From this point on, all Friday Letters will be placed on the class website... you must go there!

All kids who print out the Friday letter posted on the class website will be rewarded more than before!

If you have any ideas, suggestions, or concerns please feel free to share them with me. I would love to hear your feedback!

Week of October 10th

I am still very enthusiastic to hire some creative, hard-working, and shrewd employees… Job Interviews will be on Monday!  I can’t wait to see some confident and professional students ready to talk about why they are qualified for the jobs.

Writing: This week we continued to learn how to write “perfect” paragraphs. Students learned about transition words (aka. Signal words)… Thus, they now have a whole list of words to help their writing flow from one sentence to the next and from one paragraph to the next.

Bible: We are continuing to learn about Jesus’ parables from the book of Matthew. Jesus used parables to help his listeners picture and understand his teachings. Jesus’ parables warn us against self-righteousness, “covetousness,” and many other vices. These deceptively simple stories urge us to obey God’s Word now, to be generous toward God and others, and to live according to the values of God’s kingdom while we are here on Earth.

Science: We have completed our chapter on “Plants and Their Adaptations.” We have corrected the lesson questions, chapter review, and science packet together. Please use those to study for the test on Monday!

I have passed out permission slips to the kids, which I am adding to the bottom of this Friday Letter…it’s about a class website that I would like to create…
Progress Reports have been mailed. You should receive them sometime this week.

Monday: Unit A, Ch. 3 Science Test
Tuesday: Ella Quiz on Ch. 16-18
Friday: List 2 Spelling Test
(Get ready for the Unit 2 Language Test next week!)
