Feb. 13-17th 2012

1st grade- We are working on a new scene in class, and our school family skit for Mrs. Johnson

3rd grade- We are reading the Master puppeteer in class, and working on a story map to go with our Japanese Theatre unit.

5th grade Drama- We are working on our Dramatic Poems in class. That theatres look great!

6th grade Language Arts- Grammar pages 129-139, and The TUck Everlasting movie this week.

8th grade drama- We will begin reading Romeo and Juliet this week. Their monologues were fabulous.

Annie Get your Gun Dry tech this week. Monday is load in and Tech rehearsal in the Theatre from 3:30-5:30 and Thursday from 3:30-5:30 in the Theatre. Please remember that the Dress Rehearsals on Feb. 21,22,23 are from 6-9 pm for the cast and Tech Crew.

Talent show date change is March 15th!

Auditions for The Adventure of a comic book artist is Feb. 29th for grades 1-5!

1st grade- We finished our poems we get to move onto scene work this week!

6th grade Literature- Travel Brochures are due Wednesday. Study for Tuck Everlasting test this week. Grammar unit 7 in class.

8th grade Drama- We are grading our monologue starting on Monday.

Wednesday Feb.1,2012

I wanted to let the cast of Annie Get your Gun know that there will NOT be a Saturday rehearsal this weekend!!!!! We were able to catch up on some choreography yesterday, so keep up the good work. We have 8 rehearsals left. Today we will be finished early, as we only have one number to choreograph instead of three. Friday's schedule remains the same. Monday Feb. 6th is an entire cast rehearsal as we are running through the entire show. Please practice your music with your choreography this weekend. Our final Mandatory music rehearsal is Tuesday Feb. 7th.We will run through all the songs with Ms. R.....Please memorize, memorize, memorize....... Miss Cindy

Jan.23,2012

1st grade- We have been memorizing poems in class.

3rd grade- We will be starting a new section in Japanese theatre this week.

5th Grade- We will be finishing our theatre models and starting our set designs this week.

6th grade Literature- We are writing our rough drafts Tuesday and Thursday this week, final draft is due on Feb. 1st. Tuck everlasting chapters, 17-24 this week.

8th grade drama- We will be working on a character breakdown sheet so we can write our own monologues.

Annie Get your Gun: Tuesday Mandatory Music rehearsal 3:30-5:30.
Wednesday run through all of act 1 memorized and choreograph songs. Friday, Run through all of act 2 memorized and Choreograph songs.

CSI Festival- 5th/6th grade Drama rehearse Wednesday at Lunch, please be memorized.

Scholarship Auditions are Thursday Jan. 26th, from 8:40-10:00 am. Please make sure to wear full dress uniform.

Jan.9-13,2012

I have been crazy busy with my mother in the hospital, thank you all for your prayers. I will list the important stuff for this week.

1st grade Drama- We are working on memorizing and performing poems in class.

3rd grade Drama- We are working on our set design pictures in class.

5th grade Drama- We are working on our Theater Models in class. Bring in Cardboard, rulers and pencils, and a plastic bag to keep all of your model pieces in....

6th grade Language Arts: Thursday there will be a test on Vocabulary unit 4, please review the words since it has been a while since we worked on the packet. We will be taking our notes from our research papers and putting them into an outline this week. The outline is due on Friday. We are reading Tuck Everlasting chapters 7-12 this week.

7th grade Drama- We are working on our storybooks and the illustrations that go with them in class.

Annie Get your Gun: Rehearsal this week is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday is Music rehearsal.( everyone must be there) We will be doing choreography and running through the show when we get back from finals week. 3:30-5:30...When we are not singing songs, we will be working on choreographing them.

Christmas Break

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you all enjoy your time off. I do have some suggestions for 6th grade and seventh grade, as well as the Annie get your Gun Cast.

6th grade- Try to gather your notes from the theater Architecture project you did in drama. You can also get some information on your country you picked for social studies. Look for entertainment/ arts in your country. Keep all your information together as we will organize your notes when we get back. Remember, we will be writing the research paper as your grammar unit 6.

7th grade Drama- Please remember to memorize your scenes as we will grade them when we get back.

Annie get your gun- Practice your songs as best you can, and memorize all of act 1 lines and choreography. We will block act 2 and finish the dances when we get back. Remember the 4 Tuesdays in January are mandatory rehearsals as we are paying the vocal coach to teach you the music.....thank you for working so hard....Miss Cindy

Mon Dec. 12-16th

1st grade- We finished our readers theatre packet. we will concentrate on reading the script together in class.

3rd grade Drama- We will grade our scenes on Monday.

5th grade Drama- Tuesday is our stuffed animal/ hat day in class. We will also be grading our scenes, since Thursday I will be gone on a field trip.

6th grade language Arts- Our unit 5 grammar test is on Thursday after the field trip. We will finish the unit on Tuesday. Our Christmas poems are due Monday and Tuesday this week typed. All Fine Arts Festival writing is due typed no later than Monday the 12th.

7th grade Drama- We will critique scenes Monday, and rehearse Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday is the field trip, and Friday is a half day, so please memorize your scenes over Christmas break.

Annie get your Gun cast- Music rehearsals will begin on Tuesdays in January. These will be mandatory as we only have 4/5 of them with the voice coach. We are paying her to be there, so you will have to rearrange any schedule conflicts.
Please memorize your lines in act 1, and if you know you are in act two memorize those as well. I will only have rehearsal on Wednesday this week due to the Christmas concert and other conflicts. I am going to run through the blocking of scenes 1-4. I will give you a new schedule for January as soon as we get back from break.

December5-9,2011

1st grade Drama- We are working on our readers theatre packets and scenes this week.

3rd grade Drama- We will critique our scenes on Monday. They need to be memorized by the 12th...

5th grade Drama- We will finish our critiques on Tuesday, and they will need to be memorized by Thursday. December 13th the students earned a hat day and bring in your own stuffed animal day.

6th grade Literature- Vocabulary Lesson 4 in class. Grammar pages 78-83. We will be looking at Hebrew poetry forms from the Bible, and writing our Christmas poems in that style this week.

7th grade Drama- We will rehearse our scenes with partners. I will critique scenes before break and grade scenes when we get back from Christmas....

7th grade Drama- Your design projects are due Monday. Make sure you have them completed. We will be presenting them to the class as a group Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Cinderella performance and Tech week! Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday tech rehearsals are from 3:30-5:30 in the Freed Theatre. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:00 and Saturday and Sunday at 1:00. Strike after the play on Sunday. We will have a cast party Sunday after strike until 5:00pm!

Annie Get your Gun: Please memorize scenes 1&2 over the break. We will meet after Cinderella is over. So we will not have rehearsals this week at all....

3rd grade Drama- You have earned a movie day! Your Make-up application went very well. Good Job!

5th grade Drama- We will review for our quiz on the Stanislavski System. The quiz is Thursday.

6th grade Language Arts: Read the Stone on page 150. Grammar pages 58-61. Vocabulary Quiz unit 3 on Thursday.

7th grade Drama- We will begin our group design project this week. The good news is we are a head about 3 days, so we will have extra time to work on it.

Cinderella- Rehearsal 3:30-5:30 Monday and Wednesday.

1st grade Drama- We earned a movie day this week, then we will start our readers theatre packet.

3rd grade Drama- We finished our make-up Morgue, so we will start our make-up application this week.

5th grade Drama- We are learning the Stanislavski System this week.

6th grade language Arts: Read the Dog of Pompeii on Monday, Grammar
pgs. 49-57, On Wednesday we will work on worksheets for the Dog of Pompeii, and on Friday we will compare a picture and write about the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.

7th Drama- We will finish grading our poems this week, and we will start theatrical Make-up with Burns and scars.....

Cinderella: I will cancel rehearsal on Monday since some of you need the time to get ready for evening activities, but I need to have rehearsal on Wednesday from 3:30-5:30, we only have 5 left.

October 24-28,2011

1st grade Drama- We will be working on a readers theater packet and vocal warm ups.

3rd grade Drama- we will finish our make-up morgue project and start make-up application.

5th grade Drama- we are finishing our motivated movement unit with ZAP and OCEAN WAVE game.

6th grade Language Arts- Read the Scribe, worksheets in class, Grammar pgs. 46-48. Grammar Test on Unit 3 on Thursday. Friday we will get our Vocabulary packet for Word Wise unit 3. The test for the Vocabulary will be in three weeks, so please do not lose your packet.

7th grade Drama- We will get our partners for the student critique of our dramatic poems.

Cinderella- 3:30-5:30 Monday and Wednesday. The entire show needs to be memorized this week. We will be running through Act 1 scene 3 on Monday, and Act 2. On Wednesday we will run through the entire show if we can.

High school Jr. High Musical- Unfortunately due to contract restrictions, we are unable to perform Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. However, I am looking at Annie get your gun, and if all goes well, I think it is comparable to the cast I have, I will put in to get that contract. So for now there is no rehearsal until I hear back and we move forward again. If dates need to be changed or whatever, I will let you all know as soon as possible. Thanks for understanding.
