Dear Parents,
This week was filled to the brim with Christmas activities. Thank you all for coming to the Christmas program. The fourth grade sounded great singing their song. The dancers were beautiful and graceful. The choir was excellent and so were band and strings. It was wonderful to enjoy the many talents of our students.
Thank you for all of the thoughtful Christmas gifts! I’ll be enjoying the delicious treats, the gifts cards, and the other fun things.
Thank you to all the parents to sent in food for our party and/or those who came and helped. I couldn’t do it without you!
We’re out of school! Enjoy your two weeks off. I hope you have safe travels, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Don’t forget to come back on Monday January 5th.
Yesterday, your child should have brought home a copy of our class newspaper. Each student worked hard writing and editing their article. Then students typed their articles, and I arranged them. It looks great! I am so impressed with its quality (even though I’m sure a few typos slipped through.)
This week we took a language test and a math test. I am very pleased with the results. They are in your child’s Friday folder. Also in your folders are the score sheets for the California mission reports. Overall, I am impressed with the knowledge each student gained and the effort they put into making a great project. You are getting back the comment sheet and the rough draft. I am keeping the final reports to display for Open House.
This is the last reminder for Sacramento payments. They are now PAST DUE! Please call Travel Teens and get your account settled.
The Thursday we come back, our spelling test will be on list 15. If you are ambitious, you can start studying now.
On Wednesday, January 7th (the first week back after break) we are having an on campus field trip call Walk Through California. This week each student in 4th grade received an “expert word” card. This is a small green card with a vocabulary word and a research question. Please help your child memorize their definition and find the answer to their question. Walk Through California is a very interactive program and this will help your child’s team do well. There is a separate letter in your Friday folder about this as well which invites you to attend and also gives directions about costumes you can wear. (They are optional.) As the other letter states, we are only inviting adults to come enjoy the program. No children will be allowed to stay.
