This week we had our Read-a-Thon! It was fun. We got to wear free dress and read for the whole day. We read different books for about 200 minutes. The point of the Read-a-Thon was to make reading more fun and raise money for Yesenia's Orphanage... Thank you if you [dontated].

This week we learned about 8 spaces between one inch. Before we only knew that there were 4 spaces between one inch. Also, we had to reduce if, for example, the number was 1 6/8 of an inch we would reduce it to 1 and 3/4 of an inch. They gave us practiced problems like point "A" and point "B".

On Wednesday, we did a science experiment. The materials we needed were food coloring, salt, adn two columns of water. Mrs. Dey poured salt in one column of water and we put food coloring in the water. We saw how the food coloring dissolved [dispersed] right in because it doesn't have any salt and the salt made the water denser. She put the food colring in the one that had salt and it didn't dissolve [disperse] as fast as the other one because it is denser. That experiment was really fun. [We then did a second activity-painting. Ask your student about this and WHY and HOW it relates to science!]
