Week of January 25th

NO SCHOOL Monday Jan. 25th
Congratulations to Bethene this week for the award of Courage!

We made it through the treacherous weather this week with the accumulation of rain water making a drought the last thing on our minds. It sure has been blustery and I hope your home has not turned into a flood area. :)

We will continue to work on our 1930's projects much of this week so please have research prepared. No group has said they're having trouble with this...

Be sure to finish your atmospheric layer drawings this weekend- due Tuesday.
Friday will be our next math test as well as OUR SCHOOL FAMILY! We'll be practicing all week for that so parents please join us if you're able!

This short week we started our 1930’s project. In groups of three or four, we had our meeting to discuss our chosen topic. The topics are news and events, clothing, music, and technology and inventions. Each student will need to research and bring back information from library books or the internet to the group. We then need to create a poster and present our collected information. This group project will be fun, exciting and challenging for us to work together.

By Amber- This week we got started with our President Reports. First we picked our President. Then we started researching our President for a couple days. There are still more things to do for this report, but this is all we know for now. This will be due around the last week of February.

By Hanah- This week we were reading a new book called "Bud, Not Buddy". So far we read about a boy named Bud who moved to a foster home with the Amoses and their twelve-year-old son named Todd. Todd is always lying and bullying poor Bud. Bud moved to the Amos's shed. He found and fought the hornets in there. Bud thought that a hornet's nest was a big vampire bat. he cut it in half and made the hornets mad. The hornets stung almost every part of his body! Bud escaped out the window and planned to have revenge on the mean Amoses! This is a very fun and exiting book because we are so anxious to find out on how Bud is going to take revenge. We did a quiz on chapter 1-3. We could use our books for our quiz!

Thank you,
Mrs. Dey
