daughters hope

Thank you to all who have been praying for my 17 year old daughter. She has been stressed over her skating, tonight is the big night that she takes her test. She is feeling so much better about herself and has weather a couple of incidents that past couple of days. One her dress never arrived so we have worked on an old dress that is kind of falling apart but we are praying it stays together. She also took a hard fall yesterday and bruised her knee badly (this was off ice when she was walking into the store, so graceful on the ice not so graceful off the ice :) She has some pain but rubbed it down with icy hot and took an excederin. I'm praying for continued calmness and that she goes out there and does her best for her and God and nothing else matters.

Prayer Update written on November 14, 2008:
I wanted to say thanks so very much for everybodys prayer support. It was not mean't to be and she did not pass. Her coach was pretty upset because she looked beautiful and skated strongly. So she is going to try again in January. There were some tears tonight but she pulled herself together and stayed to cheer on her friends who were also in the process of testing. I was so proud of Heather because she was able to reach out to a couple of her friends who also did not pass, were in tears and obviously hurting. She looked past her own pain to help others. More hard work ahead and hopefully she will be able to pass in January.

Lord, I hope the 5HTP comes in the mail today and it helps me get some sleep. I would like to get the letter to PJ, put the new address on phones for life and send the app in, clean up in the kitchen and put away some laundry today.

I know there are other things to consider but I also know that I have not been able to do the above for a while. I pray for some good household help.

I also would like to clean out the car and vacuum it and put drops in Rosie's ears.

I have not been doing well lately Lord. Need sleep and need to take my beds and supplements and be able to eat 3 meals.

I thank you that I was able to take a shower this am. Wondering what to do about the people at the dog park who are parking in the handicap places but do not have a handicap sticker.

Prayer Update written on November 14, 2008:
Thank you Lord. The 5HTP came today. Thank you for the funds to purchase it too.

I was able to get the letter off to PJ and the WC attny...praying the attny does his homework and reads what I send and it helps him with my case.

Found another address for phones for life and got the app in the mail.

Resting now. Hoping to be able to do a bit more later today.

Daughter Needs Strength

Our daughter, Tonya, was convicted of narcotics abuse while she was a paramedic. She has turned to God and admitted her sins, and given her life over to Him. Tonya is now part of AA, NA, and her Methodist Church. On Monday, November 17th, she faces sentencing for her conviction. We understand that she may be sentenced to 2 years in jail, with none of it suspended. Tonya is prepared to serve God in whatever way He leads her. Please pray that God fills the judge with His Holy Spirit and leads him to sentence Tonya in whatever manner best leads her to serve His ministry. Tonya would like very much to open a drug rehabilitation center in her town in WV to help others like herself. If that is God's will, then pray that God will guide her and us in this endeavor. Pray that Tonya continues to know that we love and support her, regardless of the past. Pray that our most holy Father sends His blessings to Tonya and family, and enables them to shine as beacons for Him. In Jesus' name we pray, and in His name we praise the Lord most holy. Amen.

Prayer Update written on November 18, 2008:
The judge sentenced Tonya to 1-4 years for her narcotics abuse felony. He said that he could have released her to community sentencing if she had not been able to find a job on her own (but she did) or if she had never been to rehab (she voluntarily entered rehab 10 years ago). The judge then released her and told her that he would later set the date when she will have to report. We are praying that she will be able to be home through Thanksgiving. The judge is retiring early next year, and we are uncertain why he released her. The attorney said this has never happened before. We believe that God is working to have His will done. Praise the Lord for his constant, ever faithful love, compassion, and presence. Let us all bow down and thank Him for the wonderful gifts we have. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
