Sheila Schuller Coleman"Those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires." – Romans 8:5
I wrote all morning, enjoying the ease of revising text on a word processor. Jason, my five-year-old, ran into the room, saw a red button and pushed it before I could stop him.
"No!"
Just like that my work disappeared.
Feeling sick within, I remembered my parents' admonition to look for a silver lining. Still, what good could come from losing all my work?
"Is it possible, Lord, you knew it would be better after a re-write when I was more painstaking than this morning? So be it."
I fed the boys lunch, put them down for naps, and tackled the chapter again. Words flowed faster with more richness than in the first draft.
The first reaction to trouble is still, "Yikes! No!" But believing God can use it for good never fails to encourage me to try again.
