Weakness to strength

Robert H. Schuller

"For Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." – 2 Corinthians 12:10

The Bible makes an astonishing promise—out of our weakness will come strength.

That's like saying where a bone was broken, it will knit, weld, and become stronger there than at any other point. Where the flesh was cut the skin will mend and form a scar that is tougher there than at any other point on the body.

Once when I was making a hospital call, a doctor pointed out a nurse who was walking down the hall and said to me, "She's the best nurse we have. She works hard and is so dedicated," Then, as an afterthought, he added, "That's because when she was a teenager she spent ten months in the hospital."

Do you want to live an emotionally healthy and spiritually happy life? Learn to handle the hurts that come your way. Turn your scars into stars!

What "scar" in your life has God used to make you a "star" in someone else's life?

Yes that's the choice always. Bad things are going to happen. It's a given. Sometimes terrible things are going to happen. It's a given Yet for God who created the sun to rise each day to celebrate a brand new creation each day, so it is for those who know the heart of God and cling to it literally for LIFE. Not just life but LIFE. . The alternative is to be crushed like an empty can. Being empty there are no contents inside to protect it from being crushed at the slightest pressure. . In every rising sun, celebrate the son. He is the rising son in the bleak darkness. Without Him as the new convenant He is the world would be an empty can on a busy highway in the total darkness.

Believing in these words: "With God all things are possible." epitomises for me the notion that the scars in life can make us strong through faith in our Lord, Jesus Chrisrt. In our weakness through Him we can find strength. Many of us do find our purpose in life to be helping others because of our own expereinces, such as in the story of the nurse in this devotion. I pray that I may rise from my adversities and find the stars in my life; that I can move forward to serve our Lord according to His plan for me. Thank you for these words of encouragement. Amen!
