1. On When God Whispers in Message Books:

   I was in the Navy in 1985, my homeport was Long Beach, Ca. I had gambling issues which got me into serious trouble with my career in the Navy. I watched the Hour of Power and started to learn more about God, I was given some information that turned me away, I believe now that I was not ready and did not seek God with all my heart. I spent another 17 years without God finding more trouble with drinking and gambling. I was discharged from the Navy in 1993 for these issues. It's really a shame of what might have been had my walk with God took root back in 1985. For that matter I went to catholic school for five years from age 7 to age 12 and God's words did not take root then either. Truthfully, I didn't recall seeing the love of God flowing through people, not even my parents, which might have been the issue to begin with. Thankfully, in 2002 I made a commitment to Jesus Christ and my path has been much better from knowing Him. I believe listening for His voice is vital.
