Banquet Services Manager

Location: Rancho Capistrano (San Juan Capistrano, CA)

Employment Status: Full Time

Summary: This position is responsible for managing the dining facilities and banquet personnel and equipment.

  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with the Director of Facilities and Director of Guest Services to ensure the banquet requirements are met for conferences, weddings and special events, i.e. buffet lines and sit down services.
  • Manages staff training program
  • Manages and staffs banquet events and assists with staffing needs for weddings
  • Manages Dining Room Banquet staff and assists in managing other events at various campus locations, as assigned
  • Works with the Director of Banquet Services to manage the linen rental provider
  • Co-manages the table setting inventory, i.e. coffee machines, ice machines, etc.
  • Manages the uniforms for the food servers to ensure proper attire for events (casual or formal) and the inventory of the uniforms.
  • Helps implement changes as indicated on Guest Comment Cards.

  • Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years experience in the hospitality industry
  • Previous management experience

  • Abilities/Skills:
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Possess strong managerial skills with a professional demeanor
  • Lead by example demonstrating team spirit and the ability to work with others forming partnerships to achieve common goals, thus building a strong team.
  • Ability to communicate verbal and written banquet requirements to ensure that guest’s requests will be met.
  • Excellent computer skills a must
  • Walk up and down hills from one campus location to another
