Exciting Ministry Announcement!

Dear Crystal Cathedral Family,

As announced in church this past Sunday, I believe God has called me back to give leadership once again to this ministry.

Three very prominent church leaders had individually approached me to tell me, "God is not done with you!" I also heard in the wee hours of the morning, the same message from God. But I protested, "Lord, I am too old!" He responded, "Give me two more years—24 more months. Give the message—cast my original vision for this ministry. Don't worry. I have called your daughter Sheila, too. She is equipped and she will be your legs."

So, I have committed to giving two more years of casting God's vision for this ministry and Sheila has accepted my request to put legs to the vision. Sheila has her doctorate in administration and leadership. She knows and loves this ministry and me unconditionally.

Sheila did accept with some limitations and conditions. Based on her strengths and weaknesses she has expressed a willingness to assist me in communicating the vision and ensuring that the entire ministry (Crystal Cathedral Congregation and the Hour of Power) are going in the same direction—toward the same unified vision. But, she will not do this alone.

Sheila believes in team leadership and will be one member of the teams leading the local church and the Hour of Power. Her role as Directing Leader means that she will ensure that the vision is clearly communicated. She will help assemble teams to provide leadership. Sheila believes in empowering laity—the members of the congregation—and has many ideas for involving the laity on these teams, and that includes YOU!

As we make these exciting changes, we want to thank our beloved Pastor Juan Carlos Ortiz, who made such a positive impact on this ministry as he served for the past many months as our Interim Senior Pastor. We are so blessed that he will carry on as a teaching pastor of this church, continuing to bless us with his insight and grace-filled love that comes through a heart deeply connected to, and steeped in the wisdom of, our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.

I am very excited about what God is doing and the amazing future He has for this ministry. Please continue to pray for us and for God's guidance. We have felt your prayers. Don't stop!
